Options Booklet

The Options Booklet is a full explanation of the options process, listing all choices available and containing information on every subject that can be studied in the KS4 Curriculum.  A copy will be given to every Year 8 student when they are next in school.  However, a copy can be collected from the school office or a pdf version can be accessed via the link below.




Subject Videos

A complete set of short videos, presented by the subject leads in each department and containing information on every subject that can be studied in the KS4 Curriculum.

Core subjects: All students will study these subjects

GCSE English and English Literature

GCSE Mathematics

GCSE Science (Combined Science or Triple Science)


GCSE Option Subjects: Most students will end up studying four of these subjects

Parents Evening (Thursday 11th March)

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Parent-Teacher Consultation Evening will be held online this year.  As well as making appointments with your child’s individual subject teachers, you will also have the opportunity to make an appointment with a subject leads if, for example, you have questions about options subjects that are not currently studied at KS3.  To allow sufficient time for this, the PTCE will be extended to start at 13:00 and run to 19:00.  Further details will be emailed to all Year 8 parents.


Options forms

You will fill in one of the two options forms depending on the pathway that you choose.  This is described in detail in Ms Watkins Introduction video and, again, in the Options booklet.  Both forms will be given out with the options booklet but write-on and electronic versions are available below.
