Administrative Assistant (attendance)

Larkmead School is seeking applications for the role of Attendance & Administrative Assistant to commence in February/March 2022.  The successful candidate will have prior experience of working in an administrative environment – although this need not necessarily have been in a school.  Flexibility, patience and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders are a must for the post-holder.

 

The role will more specifically involve administering the attendance monitoring process through recording, challenging, contacting and highlighting concerns with appropriate school leaders and family members/carers where appropriate along with general administration tasks as directed.  Applicants should be ICT competent and be familiar with MS Office and e-mail.

 

EXPERIENCE

  1. Have at least 1 years' experience of working within an office environment
  2. Be ICT literate (with a strong understanding of Microsoft Office)
  3. Be highly organised, efficient & accurate with excellent communication skills
  4. Be able to manage your own workload, prioritise, plan ahead & show initiative
  5. SIMS EXPERIENCE –DESIRABLE
  6. Update school records, analyse attendance data and provide reports to senior managers and other professionals. Disseminate information, both internally and externally, in a timely fashion.
  7. Be fully aware of and carry out all work in line with Child Protection /Safeguarding Procedures.
  8. Liaise and work with external organisations as required.
  9. Manage your own work load in line with the school priorities.
  10. Maintain a good working knowledge of the statutory framework and any policies and procedures relating to school attendance and special needs etc. in order to be able to offer informed advice to parents, school staff and others.
  11. Liaise with Pastoral Support and advice on all matters relating to attendance
  12. Co-ordinate the work of any colleagues that might assist with the running of attendance.

 

Health, Safety and Wellbeing

 

  1. Promote and safeguard the welfare of children that you are responsible for or come into contact with.
  2. Comply with and ensure that school policies, procedures and risk assessments, for example, Lone Working, Safeguarding, Data Protection and e-safety are followed
  3. Confidentiality must be observed at all times.

 

Salary: Grade 5 Point 5-7 £19,312.00 - £20,092.00. Actual salary to reflect hours and the term time nature of the post £14,128.42 - £14,699.06.

 

Contract Hours: 32.5 hours per week during term time only. The working days and times must start between the hours of 7.45am and 8.15am however we are flexible around distribution of the remaining hours so long as they conclude before 4pm each day.
