Collaboration is an important benefit of working at Larkmead, with students and staff benefitting from our work with the OX14 Partnership of three state and three independent school, the Abingdon Partnership of primary and secondary schools as well as links with universities, employers and other organisations.

Teaching Assistant

With effect from September 2022, we have various Teaching Assistant roles available within the Learning Support Department. These posts are permanent positions within the school. 

 

The role will involve supporting students with SEND across the curriculum at both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

 

The work would mostly be in the classroom supporting students in lessons led by the subject teacher but could also involve working with a student or small group of students in the Learning Support Base on a programme agreed by the Head of Learning Support.

 

The successful applicant will need to be adaptable, be prepared to work with students with emotional as well as learning difficulties and be able to work effectively within a team.

 

Salary Type: Grade 4 Point 4-5 £19,264.00 - £19,650.00 (pro rata), actual salary to reflect the term time nature of the post £14,093.31 - £14,375.70  

Contract Hours: 32.50 hours per week during term time only.

Monday-Friday 8.30am–15.30pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Teacher of Design & Technology

Contract: Full-time, Fixed Term Contract

Start Date: 1st September 2022

Responsible to: Head of Technology

 

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher of Design & Technology to join our supportive, collaborative and thriving Faculty. The position would suit someone who can teach Product Design, with experience of teaching Electronics & Mechanisms particularly welcome.

 

The Technology faculty features a range of specialist teaching spaces, a welcoming team room and a computer room, providing a positive setting, enabling colleagues to work closely together to share planning, inspiration and support. Technology subjects are popular with students, and integral to our vision for education, which encompasses film, graphics and imedia along with traditional Design and Technology subjects.

 

The position is suitable for ECT’s and experienced teachers.

Cover Administrator

Larkmead School is seeking applications for the role of Cover Administrator.

The successful candidate will have prior experience of working in an administrative environment – although this need not necessarily have been in a school, it would be an advantage.  Flexibility, patience and a polite manner are a must for the post-holder.

 

The key responsibilities of this role are coordinating and allocating daily cover arrangements for planned and unplanned staff absence, ensuring that staff absence record keeping is maintained and up to date.  

 

Salary: Grade 6 Point 8-13 £20,852.00 - £23,023.00

Actual salary to reflect hours and the term time nature of the post £11,734.67 - £12,956.42

Contract Hours: 25 hours per week during term time only

Monday to Friday 7.00am – 12.15 with a 15-minute unpaid break

RECEPTIONIST / ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT POST

Larkmead School is seeking applications for the role of Receptionist / Administrative Assistant, to commence as soon as possible.  This is a permanent appointment.

 

The successful candidate will have prior experience of working in an administrative environment, although this need not necessarily have been in a school.  Flexibility, patience and a polite manner are a must for the post-holder.

 

The role will more specifically involve reception duties (by telephone and visitors), working alongside the student receptionists, communication with parents, scheduling of activities within school calendars, typing, using office machinery and general administration tasks as directed. Applicants should be ICT competent and be familiar with MS Office and e-mail.

 

Salary: Grade 4 Point 4-5 £19,264.00 - £19,650.00   

Actual salary to reflect hours and the term time nature of the post £13,009.21 - £13,269.88

Contract Hours: 30 hours per week during term time only. The working days and times are: Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm, with a 30 minute unpaid rest break each day.

Cover Supervisor

We are seeking to recruit an inspiring Cover Supervisor to join our enthusiastic and professional team. This is an excellent opportunity to directly support students and staff at Larkmead and to enhance the learning outcomes for our student body.

 

The successful applicant will have high expectations of all students and be committed to raising educational achievement in classes across both the curriculum and academic years. Flexibility is key as the daily role is a reactive one requiring you to move to where need is greatest.

 

Training will be given but it would be an advantage to have classroom experience hence the role would suit an existing Teaching Assistant looking to expand and develop their career within education or a graduate considering a future in Teaching.

 

Salary Type: Grade 6 Point 8 – 13 £20,852-£23,023 (pro rata), actual salary to reflect the term time nature of the post £14,081-£15,547

Contract Hours: 30 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.25am – 3.10pm with 45 minutes unpaid rest break each day
