This is an excellent opportunity for an inspirational, enthusiastic and well qualified teacher to join our thriving Hunanities team. The position is suitable for ECTs and experienced teachers.
As the successful candidate you will be:

Teacher of History – Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)
We are looking for a passionate, creative and motivational History specialist to join our vibrant and popular Humanities Faculty to help cover a maternity absence. Perhaps more now than for a generation, an understanding of the events of the past is vital to understand the world in which our students are growing up. Exam invigilators
Contract: Hours by negotiation

Larkmead School is seeking applications for part-time Examination Invigilators to assist with examinations during all exam seasons, both public and internal.
Successful candidates will join a friendly and busy team. They will need to have a good rapport with young people, be observant, have good attention to detail, and work well in a team. Flexibility, patience and a polite manner are a must for the post holders.
Examination Invigilators will conduct exams in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures of the relevant awarding body to maintain the integrity and security of examination sessions. They will safeguard the health, safety and welfare of pupils sitting examinations. Part of the invigilator role is also to support candidates with additional needs known as access arrangements, who usually sit their exams in smaller rooms.
Examination invigilators are required to undergo yearly and in-person training to meet the requirements set out by JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) before they are able to invigilate. This includes specific training in relation to access arrangements.
Depending on your availability we can offer a smaller or larger number of hours. Many of our existing team members have other part time jobs or regular commitments. The hours available are throughout the school week, between 8.20am and 4.30pm. Invigilation at Larkmead is paid at the casual claim rate of £10.57 per hour (incl. of a pro-rata holiday entitlement).

Lunchtime Supervisor
Lunchtime Supervisors x 2 – Term-Time/Part-time
Larkmead School is seeking to appoint 2 lunchtime supervisors to assist and supervise students during the midday break.
Key duties will include:-
- Supervising students, reporting incidents where appropriate
- Light cleaning duties, eg wiping down dining tables between meals
- Encouraging positive behaviour such as picking up litter
You will join an experienced team of lunchtime supervisors who will provide support and guidance during your first weeks of employment. Training on issues such as safeguarding will be provided.

Site supervisor
Our happy and successful school is seeking to appoint a Site Supervisor to assist our Site Manager in ensuring that the school premises are maintained and developed to the highest possible standard so as to provide a safe and stimulating environment for teaching and learning.
The successful applicant will possess an enthusiastic, helpful and flexible manner, with the ability to deal easily with the full range of adults and students who may use or visit the school.

RECEPTIONIST / ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Larkmead School is seeking applications for the role of Receptionist / Administrative Assistant, to commence as soon as possible. This is a permanent appointment.
The successful candidate will have prior experience of working in an administrative environment, although this need not necessarily have been in a school. Flexibility, patience and a polite manner are a must for the post-holder.

The role will more specifically involve reception duties (by telephone and visitors), working alongside the student receptionists, communication with parents, scheduling of activities within school calendars, typing, using office machinery and general administration tasks as directed. Applicants should be ICT competent and be familiar with MS Office and e-mail.
Actual salary to reflect hours and the term time nature of the post £10,803.75-£11,000.56
Contract Hours: 22.5 hours per week during term time only. 3 days per week to include Monday and Friday and one other to be agreed - 8am to 4pm, with a 30 minute unpaid rest break each day.

ASSISTANT SENCO - (MATERNITY COVER)
With effect from October 2023 we are looking to appoint a motivated and inspiring Assistant SENCO. This appointment is a fixed term contract to provide additional support the department whilst the SENCO is on maternity leave. An Acting SENCO will also be in post. We are looking for a colleague who is passionate about inclusion and improving outcomes for students with additional needs and to support the leadership of our high quality provision for SEND pupils across the school.
The successful applicant will assist in managing the provision for pupils identified as having Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND); including promoting high quality teaching, effective use of resources, and high standards of learning and achievement for all pupils.. The philosophy of the Learning Support Department is to empower teaching staff to adapt their teaching skilfully in class whilst providing targeted interventions based on a detailed provision map. This role could suit an experienced SENCO looking for a temporary post, or equally an HLTA looking to further progress their career.
You will be joining a friendly team of 10 staff including teaching assistants and administration support.
We are looking for an assistant SENCO who:
• Has experience of working inclusively with pupils with special educational needs, ideally in a secondary setting • Leads by example and has a track record of raising standards and levels of achievement for pupils with SEN • Is able to inspire and motivate staff to be part of an great team • Is a thoughtful, engaging communicator who will develop strong relationships with children,colleagues, parents and the wider community

Teaching assistants - send
With effect from October 2023, we have various Teaching Assistant roles available within the Learning Support Department. These posts are permanent positions within the school.
The role will involve supporting students with SEND across the curriculum at both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The work would mostly be in the classroom supporting students in lessons led by the subject teacher but could also involve working with a student or small group of students in the Learning Support Base on a programme agreed by the Head of Learning Support.
The successful applicant will need to be adaptable, be prepared to work with students with emotional as well as learning difficulties and be able to work effectively within a team. You will be joining a growing, supportive team of 9 who work collaboratively to deliver the best experience for our students.
Salary Type: Grade 4 Point 4-5 £21,189-£21,575 (pro rata), actual salary to reflect the term time nature of the post £15,605.41-£15,889.70
Contract Hours: 3, 4 or 5 days per week 8.30am–15.30pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break however all working patterns will be considered
