Learning Hub Homework
Homework is a vital part of the work of all students. Each student has a planner incorporating the homework timetable and a homework notebook and parents are asked to inspect and initial this each week.
The school attaches great importance to homework and parents should contact the Director of Learning if their child is not undertaking adequate, regular homework. Such work is essential in developing self-discipline and the skills for independent learning.
We hope you will be able to provide a quiet area for homework with a table or desk to work on. Phones, music and television are distractions and do not help children to work purposefully.
The school uses an on-line resource called Satchel One. This enables students to access their homework at home and for parents to see what homework has been set for their children at school for that day/week/year.
The system allows for materials and resources to be uploaded on to the site so that parents and students are able to access these from home. Allowing students and parents to keep track of their deadlines, manage their own study time and workload more successfully and be able to see at a glance what homework still needs to be completed.
Students should contact Student Services for their Satchel One user ID and password.
