Mobile Phones
We have updated our policy on mobile phones. Phones are expected to be switched off and in bags while students are on the school site from arrival to departure. This is part of the morning routine for tutor groups. If a student is seen with their mobile phone then it will be confiscated until the end of the day where it can be collected from student services.
Sixth Form students are allowed to use their phones in certain areas of the school but not when in circulation with other students.
Any student needing to make emergency contact with a parent during the school day can do so by asking their respective Director of Learning for permission. This call can then be made from either the Director of Learning’s office or Student Services.
Any parent or carer wishing to contact a student should contact the school directly in the first instance.
These simple and consistent rules will support very student’s concentration and focus so that they can enjoy their time in lessons and social time without the intrusive distraction of their phone.
Information for parents on how to support safe mobile phone and device use is set out below.
