Oxfordshire Book Awards 2018

Celebrating 10 years of the Oxfordshire Book Awards – It was a star studded day!

We were rubbing shoulders with BBC Radio 1 DJs; Greg James & Chris Smith & our very own Abingdon Award Winning Author Nicki Thornton.

Tom Fletcher from McFly and Katherine Rundell Award Winning Authors sent video messages to us too!

There were books to buy, authors to meet and cake to eat!

OBA Awards for 2018 were:

Best Secondary Book – Katherine Rundell for her book ‘The Explorer’

Joint Highly Commended Secondary Book – Lisa Williamson for her book ‘All About Mia’ & Pam Smy for her book ‘Thornhill’.

Best Primary Book – Greg James & Chris Smith for their book ‘Kid Normal’

Joint Highly Commended Primary Book – Clare Balding for her book ’The Racehorse That Wouldn’t Gallop’ & Helena Duggan for her book  ‘A Place Called Perfect’

Best Picture Book – Tom Fletcher and Greg Abbott (illustrator) for their book, ‘There’s a Monster in Your Book’.

Highly Commended Picture Book – Matt Carr for his book ‘Superbat’.
