COVID-19 (Coronavirus) – School Advice
Dear parents and carers
The situation regarding exhibiting symptoms of (COVID-19) and the decision to self-isolate and therefore not to send your child in to school is understandably very difficult.
As a school we do not wish to give our own advice which is in anyway different from the ever changing national advice.
What we would say is that if your child exhibits the symptoms of a dry cough and a high temperature then we would request that you self-isolate for 7 days as advised.
Should symptoms worsen then you have the normal recourse to NHS 111 or your GP.
I must stress that we are not medical experts in any way and are only repeating the advice through the following link: https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/coronavirus-covid-19-uk-government-response
It would help us greatly if you were able to make that decision for yourselves and probably to err on the side of caution when considering the need to self-isolate.
Here at Larkmead we are open as a school and trying to stay as routine as it is possible to do. We have not been instructed to close the school nor have we been instructed that this is imminent.
Should you need to report a student absent, please telephone 01235 520141 (option 1) by 10:00 on the first day of absence or email email@example.com in the normal way.
We are putting plans in place but unless anything changes we will try to run the school as normally as possible.
Our thoughts are with the whole community.
Please find below a presentation shared across school containing information on dealing with Covid-19 (CoronaVirus).
