This year the ATOM Festival of Science and Technology is holding two of its events at Larkmead, both on Thursday 23rd March. Professor Frank Close will be giving a talk entitled Eclipse: Journeys to the Dark Side of the Moon at 6.00pm, followed by Professor Charles Pasternak with a fascinating exploration of genetic research which compares chimpanzee and human DNA at 7.30pm entitled What Makes Us Human? (Tickets £4 adult and £2 for under-18s, for each event)
The festival includes many other events in the following days including a free Science Market on the Saturday and the Usborne Children’s Book presentation “How to be an Astronaut” by children’s author, Louie Stowell, on the Sunday.
